This is my "Toon"afish. I hope the name explains the project. I need to work on taking better pictures.

Mosaic Teapot

This is my mosaic teapot. It is one of my favorite pieces. I had no plan for this, or picture in my mind about what this would look like.

Mosaic mailbox

I then proceeded to mosaic my funky old mailbox, which I had been meaning to replace. The picture is not great, but you can get the idea. You will notice that my projects get progressively quirkier.

Mosaic chest of drawers

This chest of drawers was my first mosaic project. I was going to throw this chest away, but I decided to experiment with some broken China. I had no idea what I was doing, but I think it came out great. My favorite part is the cup handle drawer pulls. I have included some close-up shots.

Talavera tile mosaic-front steps

When we returned to our home after Hurricane Katrina, our concrete steps had shifted and cracked. I repaired them , but then tiled over some of the cracks with Mexican talavera tile. My house is white stucco with terracotta clay roof tiles, and has a Mediterranean look. I love the way this looks, and my house is now referred to by neighbors as the "calla lily house".
